Perris Underground Storm Drain
PERRIS (CNS) – Groundbreaking for a Perris flood protection channel is scheduled for next week.
The Perris Valley Channel Lateral B, Stage 4 Project is a 100-year flood protection to reduce flood risk to March Air Reserve Base and surrounding Perris neighborhoods and provide critical flood protection to support the KC-46 Pegasus aircraft mission, according to Riverside County officials.
Elected officials and community partners were expected to attend the groundbreaking of the nearly $20 million underground storm drain scheduled at 11 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Van Buren Boulevard and Western Way in Perris.
Attendees expected at the event included District 41 Rep. Ken Calvert, R-Corona; 452nd Air Mobility Wing Commander from the March Air Reserve Base and Air Force Reserve Command Colonel Bryan M. Baily; elected representatives from the cities of Perris, Riverside and Moreno Valley; and General Manager- Chief Engineer at the Riverside County Flood Control and Water Conservation District Jason Uhley.
