Dalia GadElMawla
CORONA -The CNUSD Board of Education is elevating Deputy Superintendent Dalia GadElMawla as the district’s next leader, taking the reins in the coming academic year.
A ten-year district veteran, GadElMawla is currently leading business services. Pending an employment agreement, she is expected to replace the retiring Dr. Sam Buenrostro on July 2.
“As the district continues to build on its strong foundation of academic excellence and innovative programs, it is essential to have a leader who can provide steady, strategic guidance – especially during times of economic uncertainty,” Board President Stacy Nicola said.
The incoming superintendent has twice been recognized as the “Administrator of the Year,” first in 2021 by the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) and now in 2025 by the California Association of Latino Superintendents & Administrators(CALSA).
The mother of three CNUSD grads, she earned a bachelorʻs degree in business finance from Cal State Northridge, a masterʻs in public administration from California Baptist, and she is working toward a doctorate in educational leadership at Azusa Pacific.
She has been a K-12 educator for 17 years.
