Norco Parking Lot Killing
RIVERSIDE (CNS) – A 32-year-old woman who ran over and killed a man during a dispute in a Norco parking lot was sentenced Friday to 12 years in state prison.
Aubrey McGee of Riverside in June admitted one count of voluntary manslaughter under a plea agreement with the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office. In exchange for her admission, prosecutors dropped a murder charge against McGee.
During a hearing at the Riverside Hall of Justice Friday, Superior Court Judge Jennifer Gerard certified the terms and conditions of the plea deal and imposed the sentence stipulated by the prosecution and defense.
McGee killed 57-year-old Bahman Nowrozi of Norco on July 16, 2024.
According to sheriff’s Sgt. Jarred Bishop, shortly after midnight, the felon was involved in an unspecified conflict with Nowrozi in the parking lot of a strip mall near the intersection of Hamner and Mountain avenues.
Bishop said during the confrontation, McGee ran over the victim, but made no attempt to flee the scene.
Patrol deputies reached the location within minutes and found Nowrozi gravely injured. He was taken to a Riverside hospital, where he died a short time later.
McGee was taken into custody without incident.
A motive for the attack was unclear at the time, but the sergeant confirmed that the defendant and victim knew one another.
Court records show McGee has a prior felony conviction in another jurisdiction, but the offense wasn’t listed. At the time of her arrest, she had an unresolved misdemeanor case pending for driving on a suspended license in Riverside County.
That case evidently was not folded into the manslaughter proceedings.
