Parachutist Suffers Injuries to the Back
PERRIS (CNS) – A skydiver was seriously injured Thursday in an apparent hard landing that followed a jump over Perris Valley Airport.
The “skydiver down” call was received about 1:20 p.m. Thursday near Goetz Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency reported a parachutist participating in a jump organized by Skydive Perris reportedly suffered back injuries when the victim, whose identity was not disclosed, landed.
Paramedics reached the location a short time later and summoned an ambulance to transport the party to a regional trauma center for emergency treatment.
It was unclear whether the person was completely immobilized due to the fall. The reason for the hard landing was not immediately explained.
