Notification of Revised Project Description

This is a public notice that the City of Corona’s Planning and Housing Commission will conduct a public hearing in the City Council Chambers at 400 S. Vicentia Ave., on Monday, May 22, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. or thereafter upon the following:

TTM 36864: A Tentative Tract Map application to subdivide 2.09 acres in the R-1-7.2 Zone (Single Family Residential, 7,200 square foot minimum lot size), located on the south side of Corona Avenue and west of Interstate 15, and consideration of a mitigated negative declaration regarding potential environmental impacts associated with the proposed project.

A public notice was circulated and published on March 10, 2023 for a proposal to subdivide the subject property’s 2.09 acres into six (6) singlefamily residential lots, and two (2) lettered lots for a street dedication and water quality basin purposes. This notice discloses that the project design has changed, and the proposal now subdivides the property’s 2.09 acres into seven (7) single family residential lots and one (1) lettered lot for street dedication purpose. The change does not alter the thresholds, criteria, or outcomes of the environmental assessment, and does not alter the conclusion of the mitigated negative declaration prepared for the project.

California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) – An Initial Study has been prepared for the project pursuant to Section 15063 of the State Guidelines for Implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). The Initial Study prepared by the City, as the lead agency, determined that the project may have potentially significant effects, but these significant effects are capable of being mitigated to a point where clearly no significant effects would occur; and there is no substantial evidence, in light of the whole record before the City, that the project may have a significant effect on the environment. Therefore, per CEQA Section 15070(b), the City has prepared a Mitigated Negative Declaration for the project. The Mitigated Negative Declaration and Mitigated Monitoring Report for the project is being considered by the Planning and Housing Commission at a public hearing on May 22, 2023.

Ordinance No. 3370 First reading of an ordinance of the City of Corona, California, which amends Sections 15.12.020 and 15.20.020 of the Corona Municipal Code to delete references to certain Appendices in the 2022 California Fire Code and the 2022 California Plumbing Code. The appendices to be deleted were not adopted by any state agency and, thus, are not part of the California Building Standards Code unless adopted by a local agency based upon specific local climatic, geological or topographical conditions. Since there are no climatic, geological or topographical conditions in the City that would support the adoption of the appendices, the reference to these appendices in Sections 15.12.020 and 15.20.020 should be deleted.
