Eastvale Attempted Murder
RIVERSIDE (CNS) – A High Desert man accused of severely beating an Eastvale resident, inflicting life-threatening injuries, was charged Friday with attempted murder and other offenses.
Jaiden Michael Vincent Brown, 21, of Victorville, in San Bernardino County, was arrested Wednesday following a roughly two-week investigation by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Along with attempted murder, Brown is charged with sentence-enhancing allegations of inflicting great bodily injury and committing a felony while on bail.
The defendant, who is being held in lieu of $1 million bail at the Robert Presley Jail, was slated to make his initial court appearance Friday afternoon at the Riverside Hall of Justice.
According to sheriff’s Sgt. Nicholas Bazanos, in the early morning hours of Feb. 2, Brown was involved in an unspecified dispute with the victim, identified only as an Eastvale man, at a property in the 65000 block of 65th Street, near Scholar Way.
The defendant allegedly attacked the man, then fled the location. Witnesses called 911, and patrol deputies arrived minutes later, discovering the victim had “sustained major injuries,” Bazanos said.
“He was transported to a hospital in critical condition, and he remains hospitalized,” the sergeant said.
He said the ensuing investigation ultimately pointed to Brown as the alleged assailant, and detectives obtained an arrest warrant, which was served on the defendant during the afternoon of Feb. 18 at his residence in the 13000 block of Goldfinch Court.
Brown was taken into custody without incident.
Court records did not indicate for what the defendant was arrested previously. He has no documented prior felony convictions in Riverside County.
