Wall Art
By Mia Rotell
Do you, or anyone you know, have any old photos or small works of art lying around? Instead of having them collect dust in a drawer, turn them into a cute wall decoration that is sure to catch all your guests’ eyes. Get a frame, some fabric, and your piece, and in minutes, you have a beautiful piece to hang on your wall.
What you need:
– 1 picture frame (it doesn’t matter if it has a stand on the back)
– 1 half yard of fabric
– 1 picture (must be smaller than the frame)
– 1 pen
– Scissors
How to make it:
Step 1: Take out the stock photo and any other cardboard from the new frame. If there is white matting that can stay in if desired.
Step 2: Lay out the fabric and place the frame on top.
Step 3: Mark the fabric where the frame is — cut! Make sure it fits perfectly flat in the frame.
Step 4: Place the photo or other small illustration face down on the inside glass of the frame — make sure it’s straight and exactly in the center.
Step 5: Lay the fabric print side down over what was placed in the previous step.
Step 6: Put the backing back on the frame.
Step 7: It’s done!
Tip: Use polaroids or pictures with loved ones to make great gifts! If your fabric has a print, make sure to keep that in mind when cutting and placing! This can be hung on the wall — all you have to do is take off the stand.
