Turkey Burgers
By Connor Forbes
We love to eat hamburgers around here, but sometimes it is nice to mix it up with a turkey burger.
The wrap on turkey burgers are that they are dry, or flavorless. But neither of those have to be true. A turkey burger can be as juicy and flavorful as its hamburger cousin. And with less fat and more lean protein.
So let’s griddle up a turkey burger!
Ingredients
· 1.5 lbs turkey
· 1 egg
· ½ tbsp garlic salt
To Make
Preheat a cast iron griddle or large sauté pan on medium high heat. In a bowl beat the egg for 30 seconds add the garlic salt and mix. Add the turkey and with your hands or a fork, fold in the egg and garlic salt mixture. Form into 4–5-ounce paddies.
Add oil to the preheated pan and place a turkey paddy on top. Sear for 4-5 minutes then flip. Sear for another 4 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees. Pull of the pan and let sit for 5 minutes before you EAT!
