LOS ANGELES (CNS) – A baseball park in Ontario which has been a popular Hollywood filming location for movies, including “A League of Their Own,” was engulfed in a fire overnight.

The fire was reported around 11:30 p.m. Thursday at Jay Littleton Ball Park in the 1000 block of North Grove Avenue.

A Fire Investigation Supervisor from the Ontario Fire Department told Key News Network the stadium was fully involved in flames when crews reached to the scene.

With five fire engines and two trucks, the first responders were ultimately able to knockdown the fire, he added. But much of the landmark facility was largely burned to the ground.

The investigation into the cause was still ongoing. No injuries were reported.

Located within the John Galvin Park, Jay Littleton is over 80 years old and has been a prominent location, be it hosting a Little League team or a film crew.

The field has appeared in popular movies like “Eight Men Out,” “The Babe Ruth Story” and “A League of Their Own,” according to the city of Ontario.
