Suspect Accused of Burglarizing Multiple Perris Businesses in Custody

PERRIS (CNS) – A man suspected of burglarizing multiple businesses in Perris remained in custody last Friday, authorities said.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department responded to a burglary report on Tuesday in the 500 block of Indian Hills Circle, where a suspect broke in and stole several items from the property, according to a department statement.

Sheriff’s officials said surveillance footage helped identify the suspect as 36-year-old Lavelle Davis, but authorities were unable to locate him at the time.

Another burglary was reported at a business in the 33000 block of East State Highway 74 in Green Acres just before 7 a.m. Thursday, where the owner detained a man, later identified as Davis, after he allegedly broke in, according to the department.

Davis was arrested at the scene, authorities said.

Inmate records indicate he is currently being held without bail at the Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of multiple counts of burglary and violating probation. He is scheduled for an initial court appearance at the Riverside Hall of Justice on Monday.

The department did not disclose what was allegedly stolen from either location.

Anyone with relevant information was urged to call the Robbery Burglary Suppression Team’s Deputy Sanchez at Riverside County Sheriff’s dispatch at 951-776-1099 or the Perris Station at 951-210-1000.
