Ambulance Anarchy

MORENO VALLEY (CNS) – A suspect who allegedly stole an ambulance and crashed it multiple times was arrested earlier this week in Moreno Valley, authorities said.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the emergency vehicle was summoned to the area of Sunnymead Boulevard and Indian Street around 4 p.m. Monday for a medical aid situation, when a man “pulled the ambulance driver from the driver’s seat” and took control of it.

The man “did not make it very far,” ultimately crashing into a fire hydrant, retaining wall and palm tree, according to the sheriff’s statement.

Photos posted on Instagram showed the crashed ambulance bearing the logo of the emergency services company American Medical Response.

Authorities arrested the suspect and transported him to jail. They did not release the man’s identity.
