Mental Health Assistance Fairs

RIVERSIDE (CNS) – Resource fairs intended to ensure Riverside County residents suffering mental health complications, as well as relatives and friends who want to help them, are scheduled during the first half of May in three cities, according to the Riverside University Health System.

The Art of Wellness events are part of Mental Health Month, recognized every May by the county.

“The county is committed to ensuring that every resident has access to behavioral health support,” Board of Supervisors Chairman Manuel Perez said. “Through events like Art of Wellness, we are creating spaces where individuals feel connected and empowered to prioritize their health.”

All three fairs are scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The first one is set for May 1 in Palm Desert Civic Center Park, 43-900 San Pablo Ave. The second will be on May 8 at Valley-Wide Recreation & Park, 901 W. Esplanade Ave., San Jacinto, and the third on May 15 at Fairmount Park, 2601 Fairmount Blvd., Riverside.

During each gathering, county health officials and personnel from multiple nonprofit organizations will be available to provide information and one-on-one assistance for those seeking behavioral health aid.

All details obtained from participants are subject to privacy laws.

“Each of us plays a role in promoting emotional well-being,” Director of Behavioral Health Dr. Matthew Chang said. “Art of Wellness is about breaking down barriers, providing tangible tools for self-care and ensuring every resident knows they are not alone in their behavioral health journey.”
