Campus Security Officer Arrested

MORENO VALLEY (CNS) – A security supervisor at a Moreno Valley high school was arrested Thursday on suspicion of sexually assaulting a student.

Romero R. Feliciano, 51, of Perris was booked into the Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta Thursday for alleged forcible sodomy of a minor, solicitation of child pornography and other allegations.

Bail information wasn’t immediately available.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, deputies received a report last month of “inappropriate contact” between Feliciano, identified as a “campus supervising officer,” and a student, whose identity was not disclosed, including gender. The age of the minor was not provided.

The location of the encounters was Canyon Springs High School in the 23000 block of Cougar Canyon Road, just east of Pigeon Pass Road, adjacent to Box Springs Mountain, sheriff’s Sgt. Jim Peters said.

The ensuing investigation uncovered evidence of an alleged sexual assault and other offenses. No other details were provided.

A warrant was procured and served at the suspect’s residence on Marcheta Place, where he was taken into custody without incident.

Background information on Feliciano was unavailable.
