Epsom Salt

Relaxation often feels out of reach in a world full of hustle and bustle. Lists get stacked on top of lists, hours turn into seconds, and then the entire week has gone by in the blink of an eye — life feels out of control. Gain control back by curating your own bath regimen with your favorite scents as essential oils and cleansing salts. Have a quiet moment in these busy days with DIY Epsom salt baths.

What you will need:

–       1 jar with a lid

–       1 4-pound bag of unscented Epsom salt

–       1 bottle of skin-safe essential oil

–       1 glass mixing bowl

–       1 1-cup measure

–       A non-wooden spoon

How to make it:

Step 1: Measure out 1 cup of Epsom salt and pour it into the glass mixing bowl.

Step 2: Drop three to five drops of oil into the bowl. Start with three and add more if needed.

Step 3: Mix the Epsom salt with a spoon. Small clumps may form on the outskirts of the mixture, so press them into the mixture with the back of the spoon.

Step 4: Continue to stir until all the oil is mixed into the salt.

Step 5: Move the salt into a jar and secure it with a lid.

Step 6: It’s done!

Tip: The best ratio for oil to Epsom salt is three to five drops of oil per 1 cup of salt! Epsom salt is not for consumption — please don’t eat it! Put the salt in a pretty jar, with a ribbon around it, to present it as a gift!
