Young Perris Resident Dies
PERRIS (CNS) – A 20-year-old man died after performing “donuts” with his vehicle, which rolled over on its roof when he lost control of it, authorities said Monday.
Deputies from the Perris sheriff’s station responded shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday to a report of a single-vehicle rollover collision at the intersection of Indian and Placentia avenues, according to Sgt. Jeremy Bracey of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. Upon arrival, deputies found a 2023 Jeep Rubicon flipped over.
Bracey said that deputies then began to perform life-saving measures to the driver, 20-year-old Angel Zamora of Perris, but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
“Preliminary findings reflect the vehicle was performing donuts in the intersection of Indian Avenue and Placentia Avenue, when it lost control and rolled over onto the rooftop,” Bracey wrote in a statement.
Placentia Avenue was temporarily closed between Indian Avenue and Frontage road so the scene could be processed and evidence collected, according to Bracey. It was not immediately known if drugs or alcohol were factors in the incident.
As the investigation remained ongoing, anyone with additional information was asked to call Deputy Jess Kiebach of the Perris sheriff’s station at 951-210-1000.
