Bachan Salmon
By Connor Forbes
I wrote a few weeks ago how I am on a Bachan’s BBQ kick. It is not your traditional American BBQ sauce by any means. It is distinctly Japanese. It clearly has soy sauce, mirin, ginger, and sesame flavors ringing out from it. It is sweet, savory, packed with umami, and my go to put on everything sauce, at the moment- rice, chicken, pork chops, straight in my mouth (jk) and salmon. Which I will be writing about today.
I also suggested picking it up at Costco if you have a membership as the price per ounce is much better than at the grocery store. Costco or Bachan’s don’t pay me or give me free stuff to say these things, so you know this is just coming from a pure and honest point of view.
This recipe is the easiest best salmon you will make in 15 minutes or less! It sounds like an infomercial but it’s the honest truth. This is a great protein to make quickly after getting home from work, kids are screaming hungry, and you need something healthy on the table pronto.
Ingredients
- Salmon Fillet
- Bachan’s BBQ Sauce to lightly cover salmon
- Sesame seeds (optional)
To Make
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Coat the salmon in a layer of Bachan’s BBQ sauce. Sprinkle optional sesame seeds over the salmon. I did this on the adult’s salmon and left the kids side Bachan’s only. Once the oven is preheated place salmon in the oven for 10-14 minutes depending on size and thickness. Cook until the salmon reaches 125 degrees internal temperature. Remove, rest, serve and eat! I pair this with mashed potatoes and asparagus.
