CORONA – Corona Police are seeking the community’s help in investigating the murder of a Corona man last Saturday.

Stephen Desio of Corona was fatally shot just after 1 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Cottonwood Court and Fullerton Avenue, according to Corona Police Sgt., Jason Waldron.

Waldon said patrol officers were sent to the location to investigate reports of shots fired and found the 27-year-old Desio in the roadway.

Corona Fire Department paramedics arrived moments later and pronounced
the victim dead at the scene.

Waldon said the deadly shooting appears to have been “isolated” and
not a random attack, with homicide detectives working to sort out details and
find “potential witnesses” to confirm the circumstances and the suspect’s
identity.

A GoFundMe memorial page for the victim, describes Desio as “…a son a brother a father a significant other. He was a person with so much love and generosity. Always had a smile on his face that could light up any room. One thing about him and everyone knew it was that he was an amazing father his son was his world everything he was working for was for him.”

If anyone has additional information about this incident, they asked to contact the Corona Police Department Detective Bureau, Detective Lisa Larios, at (951) 279-3662 or email Lisa.Larios@CoronaCA.gov. Those desiring to remain anonymous are encouraged to contact the Tip Line at (951) 817-5837.
