RIVERSIDE (CNS) – Police Tuesday identified a 19-year-old man suspected of fatally stabbing a teenager and wounding another boy during a late-night party brawl in Riverside.

Alexandro Romero of Eastvale was arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Jail in Riverside Sunday on suspicion of murder with malice.

Romero is being held without bail.

Riverside Police Department investigators were expected to file a request with the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office for a criminal complaint against the suspect by Wednesday.

The attack happened about 12:20 a.m. Sunday in the 3400 block of Gay Way, near Diana Avenue, on the west end of the city, according to the police department.

Agency spokesman Officer Ryan Railsback said a “house party” was underway when a confrontation erupted, culminating in Romero allegedly stabbing two boys, including a 17-year-old who suffered grave wounds and died at the scene.

He has not been identified.

The other victim, also not identified, suffered non-life-threatening stab wounds and was taken to a Riverside hospital for treatment, according to police.

The specific reasons for the deadly attack were not provided.
