Though it appears Norco’s Leighton Gray (14) tags out JSerra’s Ava Geoghegan, the umpire called the runner safe. On the following play, Geoghegan was thrown at 3rd on the tail end of a double play. The Lions beat the Cougars 2 – 0 in the Division 1 semi-final game to advance to the title game against La Mirada.

American Legion Post 742 Auxiliary hosted an event honoring Memorial Day at Sunnyslope Cemetery in Corona.

The American Legion Joe Dominguez Auxiliary Unit 742 in Corona convened its annual Memorial Day gathering at the Sunnyslope Cemetery in Corona, an event hosted by Post Commander Ray Nieto and Auxiliary President Veronica Verdasco. Marine veteran Marlene Linsalato was the keynote speaker for the gathering that featured the presentation of three wreaths at the War Monument in the cemetery, contributed by American Legion Post 742, William H. Jameson Jr. American Legion Post 216, and Corona Elks #2045. Veterans dating back to the Korean War and their families were present.
