Fire Damages Middle School Campus Restroom
PERRIS (CNS) – A fire that erupted Wednesday in a lavatory of a Perris middle school damaged the space, but no one was injured.
The blaze was reported at 12:20 p.m. on the campus of Pinacate Middle School at 1990 S. A St., according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said multiple engine crews were sent to the location, which is part of the Perris Union High School District, and encountered flames in a modular restroom, detached from the main classroom building.
The space was unoccupied when firefighters arrived, officials said. No evacuations were required.
Crews completely extinguished the blaze in minutes and spent a couple of hours mopping up.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
