Perris Prostitution Sting

PERRIS (CNS) – A total of 16 people remained under arrest Saturday as the result of a prostitution sting in Perris.

The Perris Sheriff’s Station Special Enforcement Team along with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Anti-Human Trafficking Team conducted a prostitution sting on Thursday in an effort to reduce the demand for sex trafficking, arrest human traffickers and provide services for victims, according to the sheriff’s department.

The operation resulted in the arrest of 14 men for allegedly soliciting prostitution. A boy, whose age was not provided, was arrested on suspicion of pimping, as well as evading and child endangerment.

A woman was arrested on suspicion of child neglect, and was later identified as a potential victim of sex trafficking. She was subsequently provided victim services and resources, according to the sheriff’s department.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children estimates that 1 in 6 endangered runaways reported are likely victims of sex trafficking.

The Perris Sheriff’s Station SET along with RCAHT stated they seek to disrupt and dismantle sex trafficking rings operating within Riverside County and that they will aggressively identify, pursue and apprehend anyone who seeks to exploit those who are more vulnerable.
