PERRIS (CNS) – A 43-year-old man from Arizona suspected of arranging to meet a minor with the intent to commit sexual acts was taken into custody Tuesday after being caught in an online undercover operation.

Perris Sheriff’s Station Special Enforcement Team investigators began an online undercover operation Monday, posing as a 13-year-old girl, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Investigators engaged in communication with Jason Sjullie for two days, during which he allegedly expressed his intent to meet with the underaged girl to engage in sexual and lascivious acts.

A meeting between Sjullie and the investigators, who were posing as a 13-year-old girl, was scheduled for Tuesday. He was taken into custody without incident and booked into Cois Byrd Detention Center on suspicion of arranging to meet a minor with the intent of sexual acts, contacting a minor with the intent to commit sexual acts, and attempting lewd acts with a minor.

Sjullie was being held on $1 million bail.

Anyone with additional information on the case was urged to call Perris Sheriff’s Station Deputy Hartert at 951-210-1000.
