Eastvale Collision Turns Fatal

EASTVALE (CNS) – A 26-year-old woman who was a passenger in a multi- vehicle traffic collision died in Eastvale, according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department statement released Thursday.

Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station personnel were notified of a two- vehicle traffic collision involving major injuries at the intersection of Limonite Avenue and Harrison Avenue at approximately 7 p.m. Wednesday, according to the statement.

Upon arrival, deputies said they attempted to deliver medical assistance to a passenger with significant injuries until paramedics could arrive. The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

A coroner’s report later identified her as Ontario resident Jassmin Hurtado.

The investigation was turned over to the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team, who estimated that drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash. The cause of the collision remained unknown.

In order to collect evidence and survey the scene, officials temporarily shut down Limonite between Sumner Avenue and Cedar Creek road, as well as Harrison Avenue between Golden Bit and Great Falls.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who witnessed or has information regarding the collision was encouraged to contact call Deputy Shepherd of the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station at 951-955-2600.
