Spring is one of the busiest times for people who love to host. Whether that be St. Patrick’s Day, a baby shower, or a get-together with friends — when the weather warms up, everyone finds new ways to be together. An easy, fun DIY cake plate adds the perfect touch to spiffy up your table — and the best part is it only takes three things! Just get a plate, a candlestick holder, and a glue gun to put it all together, and you’ll have a piece perfect to serve that pot o’ gold!

What you need:

  • A plate (it can be any color)
  • A candlestick holder or bowl (make sure the color matches the color of the plate
  • A hot glue gun
  • A hot glue glue stick

How to make it:

Step 1: Plug in and turn on your hot glue gun.

Step 2: Place the plate on top of the bowl or candlestick holder to find the center.

Step 3: Once the hot glue gun is warm, put glue around the bottom of the bowl or around the top of the candlestick holder.

Step 4: Press the bowl or candlestick holder onto the middle of the underside of the plate.

Step 5: Hold it and count to 30 seconds

Step 6: Release and it’s done!

Tip: Go to a thrift store to find the best variety of candlestick holders and plates — and to save a few extra bucks too!
