Bicyclist Killed

GOOD HOPE (CNS) – A bicyclist who was killed after being stuck by a Toyota Tacoma was identified Sunday, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department announced.

The crash was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 5:14 p.m. Saturday and occurred on state Highway 74 at Taylor Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

A witness told the CHP the bicyclist was down on the dirt along the right-hand shoulder.

The pickup truck’s driver remained at the scene, the CHP said.

The bicyclist, identified as 35-year-old Jaime Gutierrez from Perris, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Good Hope is an unincorporated area in Riverside County southeast of Lake Matthews and southwest of Lake Perris.
