PALM SPRINGS – Alaska Airlines‘ initiated its new coast-to-coast route from New York to Palm Springs with the first landing touching down at PSP on Thursday..

“We extend our sincere gratitude to Alaska Airlines for their commitment to enhancing travel options and for choosing Palm Springs International Airport as a key part of their expanding network,” PSP executive director of aviation Harry Barrett said in a statement in June.

Non-stop flights from PSP to New York will depart daily, except Wednesday’s, at 2:10 pm, arriving at JFK at 10 pm. Non-stops originating in New York will depart daily at 9 or 9:30 am, depending on the day, arriving in the valley shortly after Noon.

The seasonal route to and from JFK will be in operation until April 22, 2024, according to airport officials.

“This new service not only strengthens our ties with one of the world’s most influential cities but also contributes to the economic growth and vitality of our region,” Barrett said in a statement in June.

Alaska Airline’s New York flights will be offered over holiday periods in December and early January, according to Meier. The airline will join JetBlue as the only other airline to offer a service between PSP and JFK.
