Perris DUI Checkpoint

Perris, Calif. – On July 12, 2024, 3 people were arrested for DUI, and 45 citations were issued, for violations such as driving with suspended/revoked license or without a license at a DUI checkpoint.

The DUI checkpoint was held at Perris Blvd. and San Jacinto Ave. from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

45 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, and 911 vehicles were contacted. 77 vehicles were subject to secondary screening, 7 field sobriety tests were conducted, and 7 vehicles were towed.

DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.

Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
