LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Warner Bros. dominated the box office this weekend, claiming the top two films in North America — the first one a sequel, the latter a prequel, according to industry estimates released Sunday.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” opened with $28.1 million, while “Wonka” pulled in $17.7 million in its second week,  Comscore reported.

In its opening weekend, “Migration,” from Illumination — the studio behind the Minions — earned $12.3 million for third place.

The romantic comedy “Anyone But You” opened with $6.2 million Friday through Sunday to finish fourth, followed by “Salaar Part 1 – Ceasefire,” which opened with almost $5.5 million while appearing in only about 800 theaters.
