Box Office 3-10-24 – `Kung Fu Panda 4′ Opens with $58.3 Million to Beat Out `Dune: Part Two’

LOS ANGELES (CNS) – The animated comedy “Kung Fu Panda 4″ opened big at the box office this weekend, taking in $58.3 million to lead all films in North America, according to industry estimates released Sunday.

The family-friendly film stars Jack Black and also features the voices of Awkwafina, Dustin Hoffman, James Hong, Ke Huy Quan, Ronny Chieng, Bryan Cranston, Ian McShane and Viola Davis.

It toppled “Dune: Part Two,” which still scored a healthy $46 million one week after opening in first place, Comscore reported.

The horror film “Imaginary” opened in third place with $10 million.

Fourth place went to the biographical drama “Cabrini,” which tells the story of Catholic missionary Francesca Cabrini and her immigration to New York City in the late 19th century. It opened with $7.5 million.

“Bob Marley: One Love” took fifth place with $4 million Friday through Sunday in its fourth week in theaters.

Rounding out the top 10 domestic releases were “Ordinary Angels” ($2 million), “Madame Web” ($1.12 million), “Migration” ($1.1 million), “Yolo” ($840,000) and “MET Opera: La Forza del Destino” ($768,196).
