The Day of the Child was celebrated Saturday at Corona City Park with Oliva Morales, 11, center, and Brayan Ibarra Flores, 9, right, being crowned princess and prince by last year's prince Jaiden Cortes, left. The Day of the Child honors children coping with medical challenges. Olivia, a fifth grader at Eisenhower Elementary School in Corona was born six months prematurely at one pound one ounce. She has undergone corrective surgeries for breathing difficulties, vision problems, and a speech impediment. Brayan, a third-grade student at Corona Ranch Elementary was born with spina bifida, a birth defect in which the spine is not fully enclosed.
